Common questions
How do measured takes work? Every talk gets a rehearsal plan, and you can always record as many takes as you like. A measured take is one Footholds transcribes, giving you its length, pace, filler words and pauses. Your first 2 talks get 3 measured takes each for free. A Talk Pass unlocks unlimited measured takes on one talk, and Pro unlocks them on every talk.
Why don't I see any numbers? Measuring a take means sending the recording to a transcription service, and Footholds only does that with your permission. To turn it on, go to Settings → Privacy → Transcribe my rehearsals.
I bought something and it isn't unlocked. It can take up to a minute. If it still hasn't unlocked, go to Settings → Restore purchases. Make sure you're signed in to the same Footholds account and the same Apple ID you bought with.
How do I cancel Pro? On your iPhone or iPad, open Settings → your name → Subscriptions → Footholds. Pro stays on until the end of the period you've paid for.
How do I get a refund? Apple handles refunds. Go to reportaproblem.apple.com.
Will I lose my talks if I change phones? Not if you add an email in Settings → Account. If you only use Footholds as a guest, your talks live on that one phone.
I'm not getting the "How did it go?" reminder. Check that notifications are allowed for Footholds in your phone's Settings.
How do I delete my account? Go to Settings and tap Delete account at the bottom. This deletes your recordings, talks and history immediately, and it can't be undone. Before deleting, cancel any Pro subscription through Apple, because deleting your account doesn't cancel it.
